TodoLock keeps your tasks, app-blocking choices, and achievements on your device. Friends is optional and lets you share a small progress summary with people you invite.

Your tasks and blocking choices

Your task titles, task history, repeating-task settings, and Screen Time selections are stored locally. TodoLock's own widgets and Screen Time extensions can read the local information they need to show your list and apply app blocking. Friends does not upload your task titles, selected apps or websites, detailed completion history, or blocking settings. The task database does not use iCloud synchronization.

Pending task titles may appear in widgets or on a blocking screen. You can change Screen Time and notification permissions in iPhone Settings. Revoking Screen Time access prevents TodoLock from applying its blocking rules.

Calendar and achievements

Calendar streaks and achievements are calculated from completed task history saved on your device. Achievements recognize completed-task totals and your best run of consecutive task days. Existing history counts, and undoing completions or removing history can change your awards. TodoLock does not upload the achievement collection or earned-award status to Friends.

Optional Friends sharing

You can use TodoLock's task list, calendar, and achievements without turning on Friends sharing. Friends requires an available iCloud account to send or accept invitations. Opening Friends can check that account and load shares you have accepted; your own progress is not published until you choose Enable sharing.

When you enable sharing, TodoLock saves these details through Apple's CloudKit service:

One completed task earns an activity day. These summaries do not certify that every daily quota was completed. Updates come from the local tasks on a device where you enabled sharing; Friends does not combine your task histories across devices.

Your summary is stored in your private iCloud database and becomes available to invited people through a read-only share. Apple manages the invitation, participant permissions, and related account and record metadata. Apple's sharing screens may show your iCloud sharing identity; choosing a display name in TodoLock does not make the invitation anonymous. An invitation shares your progress with its recipient. It does not automatically share their progress with you. They choose whether to send their own invitation. You can also accept someone's invitation without enabling your own sharing. TodoLock has no public people directory and does not request access to your address book.

Updates and saved copies

Friends refreshes when you open it, return to the app, or refresh the screen. Updates can be delayed while a device is offline or iCloud is unavailable. TodoLock stores received summaries locally to show the last available progress, labels cached or stale information, and keeps the cache associated with the verified iCloud account.

Your sharing controls

Use Manage sharing to manage access to your summary. Remove friend stops showing an incoming share; it does not remove that person's access to a separate invitation you sent them.

Use Stop sharing to remove your saved progress and invitations from TodoLock's dedicated iCloud area. This takes effect after iCloud confirms deletion. If deletion fails, TodoLock pauses progress updates on this device and provides a way to retry; it does not claim that your cloud data has been deleted. Your local task history remains available. Deleting the app alone does not delete a previously shared iCloud profile.

Stopping sharing cannot recall information a recipient has already copied or captured. Apple controls its service infrastructure and retention under its own policies. Apple's privacy policy.

Local retention and backups

Deleting a task removes it from the active list; completed history can remain for Calendar and achievements. To remove local app data, delete TodoLock rather than offloading it. Manage existing backups separately; restoring a backup can restore the data it contains. Deleting the app does not replace the Stop sharing control for an existing iCloud profile.

Apple may process information when you use the App Store, TestFlight, system diagnostics, or device backups under your Apple settings and Apple's policies. These services are separate from TodoLock's own data handling.

Advertising, support, and website visits

TodoLock does not include advertising or third-party analytics and does not track you across other apps or websites. No separate TodoLock account is required.

For privacy questions, email jake@bryt.works. If you choose to email us, the message, contact details, and attachments you provide are used to respond to your request. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and meet applicable obligations; you can request deletion by email. Include only the personal information needed to explain the issue.

The Friends screen can show an error code and the action that failed. These diagnostic labels contain error numbers and an action name, not task content or iCloud record identifiers. The app does not automatically send these labels to the developer. You can choose to include them in a support message.

Opening our privacy or support website sends an ordinary website request through your browser and the hosting service, which may receive information such as your IP address. Local task storage does not mean email and website requests stay entirely on your device.
